Start Your Own Citizen Lobby To Speak OUT For Real Reform

It may seem like an impossible task.  But it isn't. 

Your family, friends and neighbors can form a powerful network of people demanding real reform.   Most everyone's talking about health reform.  The question is are they willing to stand up and demand real reform.  Invite them over for coffee or drinks and find out.

Do a little homework.  Decide what health reform means to you.  We hope that the links in the Resources section will help.

Develop an action plan.  We decided to do a postcard campaign - one postcard for each senator and another for your representative.  Feel free to use ours as a model.

Time is short.  You might decide on an email campaign instead.  You and your neighbors could send an email to everyone you know inviting them to demand that Congress puts their interests before the special interests.   Make sure to include a link so that they can find their members of Congress.

You might decide to go together to meet with your members of Congress at his or her district office.  Even if you only speak with a staffer, few things have more CLOUT than a personal visit from a constituent.

Whatever you decide to do - speak up!  Use your CLOUT.

Join Others Lobbying for Real Reform

As they say, there's strength in numbers. 

Organizations across the country are working for real health care reform.  Find one.  We hope this list will get you started.

If you agree with what they're doing join them to force real reform.  See if they're organizing events near you or doing something else that helps you use your CLOUT.

Contact Congress

Our elected officials need to hear from each and every one of us. 

Many people believe, as the main stream media reports daily, that the medical industrial complex has bought and paid for Congress - with our money.   Unless we act, their influence will shape the health care system we live with for many decades to come.  As we learned here in Massachusetts that means billions of dollars of new revenue for them and precious little for us.

The Citizens' Lobby doesn't use cash.  We use our special CLOUT  - our voices and our votes.  If we don't use our CLOUT we'll have no one to blame to ourselves when Congress puts the special interests before ours.

Write, call or email your elected representatives.  Here's a link to find them. 

Tell them what you want and remind then that they work for us - not the special interests.

Sign Our Postcard

When we formed CLOUT we decided to do a postcard campaign.  If you want to use our postcard just print it on some paper, fill it out so your Congressmen will know you're a constituent and mail it.

Or design your own.

To get the biggest bang, print three copies and send one to each of your Senators and one to your Representative.  It's hard to think of many things you could do for $1.41 in under 10 minutes that could have as much impact.
