We took to the streets. We collected signatures on postcards and delivered them to Congress demanding their commitment to real health care reform that:
- Gives every American the choice of a public plan with comprehensive benefits;
- Emphasizes and pays adequately for primary care, prevention and wellness; and
- Demands the highest quality of care for everyone, slashes waste and builds efficiency.
In a few days we collected nearly a thousand signatures of citizens from 23 states who want Congress to put their interests before the special interests!
Time is short. Congress is deciding right now what national reform will look like. We’ll live with what they come up with for decades to come. Our health, our financial security and America’s prosperity requires bold action – not just following in Massachusetts’ footsteps.
We need a strong public option open to every American – a public option that competes head-to-head with private insurers that guarantees every American at least one choice for affordable, comprehensive coverage that no one can ever take away.
